Ridge Vineyards北加州精華次產區擁有多處葡萄園，而本酒莊的招牌旗艦酒款是生產自舊金山灣西南邊的「聖十字山產區（Santa Cruz Moutains AVA）」的Monte Bello紅酒。
19世紀末一位義大利裔的醫生Osea Perrone在Santa Cruz 山脊頂上買地開始種葡萄釀酒，並以義大利文命名這處葡萄園為Monte Bello，意為「美麗的山」。 1959年4位史丹佛大學的科學家買下已經荒蕪的Monte Bello莊園，並開始釀造葡萄酒自用。沒想到這些業餘釀酒師的玩票之作居然如此受到好評，讓他們有信心，並開始販售。不過讓本酒莊登峰造極的要歸功於1969年傳奇釀酒師Paul Draper的加入，因其卓越表現使他成為2000年被英國Decanter雜誌推選為「年度風雲人物（Decanter Man of the Year）」。
1976年，英國葡萄酒專家兼酒商的Steven Spurrier在巴黎辦了一場結果震驚世人的品酒會，在這場被世人稱為「巴黎審判（the Judgment of Paris）」的葡萄酒評鑑會裡，1971 Ridge Monte Belloc獲得第五名，讓本酒莊從此聲名大噪。更厲害的是，事隔30年(2006) Steven Spurrier再把當年的酒款重新拿來評比以印證這些酒的陳年能力，結果在倫敦和加州兩場評鑑會的結果都把1971 Ridge Monte Bello評選為第一名！
Ridge Vineyards釀造生產近40款紅白不同品種的酒款，招牌旗艦酒款Monte Bello的原料葡萄是精選自24個不同區塊，使用品種是Cabernet Sauvignon為主混合小量Merlot、Petit Verdot 和Cabernet Franc的波爾多風格，可以陳年30到50年。事實上它也被人譽為加州的一級酒莊紅酒（First Growth），而且以其卓越的表現亦是當之無愧。
本酒莊被Parker選入他的著作「全世界最偉大的酒莊（The World's Greatest Wine Estates）」書中。在陳新民教授的「稀世珍釀 – 百大葡萄酒」和葡萄酒作家劉永智先生的「頂級酒莊傳奇」書中，也都對Ridge Monte Bello有專文介紹。對於美酒鑑賞家們，Ridge Monte Bello是絕對不可錯過的偉大存在！
WA: 94+ Drink: 2026-2050
As it approaches age twelve, the 2006 Monte Bello is still quite reserved on the nose and on the palate, unwinding in the glass with a bouquet of cassis, cherries, pencil lead, dark chocolate, cigar box and dried rose petal. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and still firmly structured, carrying considerable extract and concluding with chalky grip. Rich, concentrated and powerful, the raw materials are very impressive but they're still wrapped up in some formidable structure. Eric Baugher describes the 2006 Monte Bello as "a sleeper vintage: backward and tannic when it was young, and released in a challenging economy," and that's the case today. Like the 1995 vintage, I suspect this will be a Monte Bello that really hits its stride at age 20 rather than age ten, but patient consumers with time on their side should give it serious consideration.
