Tasting note: (opened from pesonal storage and with thanks to Dr. Reed Day). This has always had a wonderfully expressive nose of spice, earth and red and black fruit and still does, the aromas are beginning to take on subtle secondary notes. The middle weight flavors are delicious, pure, precise and possess evident breed with fine length and while the typical '96 acidity is present, it's not really intrusive. Though this should be capable of living for years, I would be inclined to be drinking it over the next 5 to 10 years or so as the finish risks eventually drying out. Tasted half a dozen times or so over the years with relatively consistent notes as my scores have varied between 89 and 91 points.
