WA: 90 Drink Date: 2013 - 2020
The 2003 Schidione is 40% Sangiovese BBS11, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot from vineyards located between 300 and 500 meters above sea level. Prolonged maceration has helped to darken the wine’s deep color and ten years of aging has ushered forth aromas of dark cedar, tobacco and dried fruit. The wine’s appearance is inky dark and oozing with thickness. Sweet prune and dried cherry add brightness to the long, extremely chewy finish.
