Taittinger Collection
The ultimate symbolic product, imbued with associations and imagery, Champagne evokes an almost artistic desire. Think of the play of the light in the leaves of a tree, or the reflections on a silky skin… Champagne Taittinger has launched itself into this interplay between industry and art by asking a number of well-known artists to evoke, on the bottle, Champagne and the myths that surround it. This series, which was inaugurated by Victor Vasarely in 1983, has been added to by d’Arman, Masson, da Silva and now, by Robert Raushenberg.
Collection Robert Rauschenberg
This is the eleventh bottle presented by Champagne Taittinger, decorated by the famous artist Robert Raushenberg, who is one of the most well-known of all modern artists, considered as a precursor of pop art.
Presented in black and white, this is the champagne brut of 2000. White numbers on black attract the eye, and, if we look carefully, we are able to discern other images placed beneath, amongst them photos of countryside scenes, animals, colour boxes, paint brushes, postal stamps, post cards.
The 2000 Taittinger Brut is well balanced, with a dense structure. Made with equal parts of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, it has a richly floral and fruity aroma, with light woody notes. The Taittinger Collection 2000 was limited to 5000 bottles.
