Château Coutet是波爾多Sauternes產區最古老的酒莊之一，17世紀中葉時的主人Charles le Guerin是Coutet地區的領主，酒莊因此得名。不過它其實位於Barsac村，和另一家一級酒莊Château Climens被稱為本村最頂尖的「雙胞胎」；美國總統也是美酒鑑賞家的Thomas Jefferson曾評論說Coutet的甜酒是Barsac最好的。在19世紀到1923年的一百多年間，Château Coutet和Château d’Yquem同屬De Lur Saluces家族，品質、聲譽都非常高，在1855年的頂級酒莊分級時，將本酒莊列為Sauternes的一級酒莊。1977年有個Baly家族買下本酒莊，並經營至今；2005年Aline Baly小姐開始負責本酒莊的經營管理，令人期待本酒莊的表現更上層樓。
Coutet葡萄園有38.5公頃，其土壤是表土帶有石灰石的黏土土質，種植的品種比例是Semillon 75%、Sauvignon Blanc 23%、Muscadelle 2%，平均樹齡38歲。其酒質特色是典型Barsac酒的均衡優雅風格，因此年輕時就很美味，而經過10年以上的陳年的話也可以發展出更豐富複雜的香味。
年產量約3,500箱，包括一軍酒和二軍酒La Chartreuse de Coutet 以及一款不甜白酒Opalie de Château Coutet。本酒莊從1922年起還生產一款稀有限量品Cuvée Madame de Château Coutet，只有最好的年份才生產，迄今只出產過10幾個年份！它採用最樹齡最老的區塊、貴腐霉長得最好的Sémillon葡萄(平均樹齡55年)，還要經過非常長的窖藏陳年，年產量只有約1,200瓶！
Tasted single blind against its peers. The Chateau Coutet 2007 has a very intense bouquet with lemon curd and orange blossom mixed with clear honey. There is impressive precision here, almost crystalline. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine viscous entry, great weight and intensity with racy acidity. There is also much tension cutting through the layers of viscous fruit on the sorbet-like finish. This is a typical Coutet through and through and it should age effortlessly over 20-30 years.
