霍桑嘉西斯古堡曾經是級數酒中最不稱道的一家，直到1995年後才有像樣的表現，但依目前的表現，她恐只有五級酒莊的水準。

 

此酒莊在1789年法國大革命之前，曾為二級酒莊的Rauzan-Segla的一部份，1943年以來一直由Quie家族所經營。霍桑嘉西斯堡的萄園坐落在一座沖積平台上，60%圍繞在本酒莊中，其餘40%為礫石土壤與一級酒堡Chateau Margax以及二級酒堡 Palmer, Lascombes接壤，也就是說她terroir是有潛力的，可惜莊主開發的意願缺缺。

From a property that seems to be improving, the dark ruby/purple-tinged 2001 offers copious amounts of cedar, spice box, black currant, and forest floor scents in its distinctively earthy personality. While delicate, it reveals cunning power underneath the subtle flavors. Medium-bodied and moderately tannic, it should be at its best between 2006-2014.
