在法國波爾多的Margaux產區有兩個酒莊呼風喚雨數個世紀：Mothe-Margaux和Mothe-Cantenac，也就是現在的Chateau Margaux和Chateau d’Issan。在歷史上，Chateau d’Issan早在12世紀就出現在文獻記錄上，並且延續數百年一直為波爾多最有權勢的貴族所擁有。17世紀一位騎士Pierre l'Essenhault成為主人之後，建造了留傳至今的酒莊建築，而本酒莊的名稱亦來自其姓氏。
18、19世紀時Chateau d’Issan的酒擁有頗高的評價，甚至成為許多歐洲王室的愛用酒，因此酒莊很驕傲地以 “ For the table of kings and the altar of the gods” 做為座右銘。1855年的頂級酒莊名單上，本酒莊被評定為三級酒莊。好景不常，二次世界大戰時本酒莊被德軍佔據，酒廠設備和葡萄園都殘破不堪，幸好戰後由著名的酒商Cruse家族接掌，逐步讓Chateau d’Issan恢復水準，並且也漸漸擴充葡萄園面積。不過真正酒質有突飛猛進到令人矚目是在1990年代中期，在現任莊主Emmanuel Cruse的革新之下，Chateau d’Issan又再度躍居Margaux產區頂尖水準的酒莊之列。
它的主要葡萄園環繞在酒莊周圍，礫石為主的土壤種植了65% Cabernet Sauvignon 和35% Merlo。葡萄是以人工採收，再經嚴格篩選；發酵是在新式的不銹鋼發酵槽中進行，然後在橡木桶中陳年18個月。裝瓶前用蛋白做澄清處理，但是不經過濾。以許多酒評家的評論來看，如果要試試Margaux區典型的細緻優雅風格，Chateau d’Issan經濟實惠的最佳選擇！

The 2020 D'Issan is a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec, aging in French oak barriques, 50% new. It has an alcohol of 13.29%, a pH of 3.71 and an IPT (tannin index) of 73. Displaying an opaque purple-black color, it has vibrant notes of Bing cherries, boysenberries, ripe redcurrants and juicy black plums, plus hints of pencil shavings, wild thyme, lavender and forest floor. The medium-bodied palate has impressive energy with crunchy red and black fruits and compelling tension, framed by fine-grained tannins, finishing long and mineral laced.
