多明尼克堡(Ch. La Dominique)是以加勒比海的一個小島國命名的,因為18世紀當時的主人在那裡經商致富。1969年Clement Fayat先生成為新的主人,為本酒莊重新注入活力,更新過的葡萄園和釀酒設備讓本酒莊的產品品質提升不少。在官方發布的頂級酒莊名單中,本酒莊也榮登榜上。
本酒莊位居St-Emilion產區的西北部,距離Pomerol不遠,而且緊鄰Ch. Cheval Blanc,所以可以想見的他們的種植條件也相當優良。葡萄園有將近22公頃,土壤是石灰石、砂質黏土石的混合,在十九世紀就鋪設好的排水系列讓他們在多雨的年份也能生產出品質優良的酒。高比例的Merlot(80%),加上請到超知名的釀酒師Michel Rolland當釀酒顧問,實行晚採收葡萄,讓本酒莊的風格以肥美圓潤著稱,在年輕時就怡人好喝,也被一些酒評家封為「享樂主義」的酒。
Displaying an opaque purple-black color, the 2020 La Dominique needs a fair bit of swirling and coaxing to unlock enticing scents of crushed black cherries, black raspberries and ripe plums, plus beguiling nuances of violets, aniseed and cedar chest, with a waft of cardamom. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly wound with loads of bright, crunchy red and black fruit layers, supported by finely grained tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long with a gorgeous array of energetic mineral sparks. A property on the upward swing, this delicately crafted, beautifully restrained expression of the vintage comes highly recommended.
