Producer note: Olivier Lamy described 2018 as having a "weird rainfall pattern in that it was average for total accumulation but almost completely opposite in terms of when the rain fell. This is to say that almost all of the rainfall during the season fell at the beginning and then it was all but bone dry thereafter. I picked from the 22nd of August to the 12th of September as there was quite a disparity regarding when each parcel achieved its optimum ripeness level. Yields were good but not high which is to say on par with 2013 or 2014 but notably less than 2017. I used around 50% whole clusters for the vinifications and cut way back on new wood. I have been very pleasantly surprised by how well the wines have developed in barrel and it's entirely possible that they will continue to do so. If they do, they could be great in time."
