Clos Fourtet是波爾多Saint-Emilion產區的著名頂級酒莊(1er Grand Cru Classé B)。本酒莊所在地在中世紀時稱為 “Camp Fourtet”，是負責保護Saint-Emilion的堡壘。這個莊園在18世紀逐漸變成著名的酒莊，然後在1868年改為現在的名字Clos Fourtet。在20世紀它曾經陸續為大酒商家族所擁有：先是Ginestet家族，然後是Lurton家族；不過在他們的經營下，本酒莊的表現只能說是中規中矩。2001年現在的莊主Philippe Cuvelier買下本酒莊，並且請到極有名的Stéphane Derenoncourt來擔任釀酒顧問，Derenoncourt同時也是Pavie Macquin、Canon La Gaffelière、Clos de L'Oratoire、La Gaffelière、Beauséjour Duffau 、Rol Valentin、Smith Haut Lafitte、Les Carmes Haut Brion、Prieuré Lichine等眾多頂尖酒莊的釀酒師或釀酒顧問；在他的指導之下，酒質很明顯地有突飛猛進的進步，2009年份甚至獲得Robert Parker給予100滿分的評價！
本酒莊緊鄰Saint-Emilion村子旁，18公頃的葡萄園種植品種比例為85 % Merlot、10 % Cabernet Sauvignon 和10 % Cabernet Franc，而且刻意壓低產量以提高品質，平均年產量約4000到5000箱，總產量非常低。隨著近年水準的大幅提高，在全世界的人氣也相當高，無疑的Clos Fourtet也已成為Saint-Emilion最耀眼的明星之一。其優異的表現讓它在最新的頂級酒莊分級中被評選為「一等頂級酒莊1er Grand Cru Classé (B)」。
After tasting it three times from bottle, I am convinced this prodigious wine is one of the greatest young Bordeaux I have ever tasted. Inky blue/purple with notes of camphor, forest floor, blackberry, cassis, sweet cherries, licorice, the wine has stunning aromatics, unctuous texture and an almost inky concentration, but without any hard edges. With considerable tannin and just enough acidity to provide definition, this wine transcends even its premier grand cru classe terroir. It is certainly the finest Clos Fourtet ever produced. Give it 5-7 years of cellaring to allow some of its baby fat to fall away. There is certainly enough structure underneath to keep for 30-50 years. Bravo!
