Domaine Emmanuel Rouget
2019 Echézeaux Grand Cru Red barrel
Score: 91-94
Tasted: Jan 10, 2021
Drink: 2034+
Issue: 81
Tasting note: Deep ruby color. Moderate wood frames very ripe yet still fresh aromas of cassis, plum liqueur, hoisin, jasmine tea and a range of floral nuances. There dense, serious and powerful larger-scaled flavors possess a velvety mouthfeel on the exceptionally rich but noticeably warm finale. This is an atypical Ech that is quite interesting in its fashion though with that said, it's not what I personally look for.
