Tasting note: As is the case with many 2004 whites today,
mild reduction does not significantly detract from the otherwise elegant and complex nose of pain grillé,
white peach and floral aromas that combines with pure,
precise and gorgeously intense mineral-suffused medium-bodied flavors that retain the same sense of crystalline exactness about them that I orginally saw ,
all of which is wrapped in a finish that goes on and on.
As I observed in my first review (see Issue 23) this is a classic Chevalier with astonishing detail and a finish that is akin to rolling rocks around in the mouth.
In sum, this is a great effort and destined to become a classic.
Note that based on this bottle, I have extended my initial suggested drinking window by two years.
