Tasting note: The reserved nose is very Mazis in character with its overtly sauvage, earthy and forest floor suffused aromas that display some secondary character. There is good verve to focused and delineated middle weight flavors that evidence obvious minerality on the lean and ever-so-mildly bitter finale that possesses good but not special depth and length. For my taste this is entering into its peak phase of drinkability and though it will certainly be capable of holding for years to come it's unlikely that any additional upside development will be forthcoming. In short, I found this to be somewhat disappointing and certainly nowhere near the quality of the Domaine d'Auvenay offering (see herein for that review).
