Domaine Ponsot 2004 Clos de la Roche - Vieilles Vignes
Grand Cru Red 750 ml
Score: 93
Tasted: Oct 14, 2012
Drink: Try from 2016+
Tasting note: This is really quite pretty with its elegant and complex nose of various red berry fruit, earth and spice scents that, notably, display little of the dreaded "green meanies". There is equally fine depth to the delicious, round and relatively supple medium weight flavors that possess excellent depth and terrific persistence on the well-balanced finish. This is already approachable even though it is still on the way up and for my taste I would allow this another 4 to 5 years of cellar time and then drink over the next decade.
