在波爾多的左岸Margaux產區裡，有三家名字裡有Cantenac的酒莊，其中Chateau Cantenac Brown因為19世紀時曾經被蘇格蘭人John Lewis Brown所擁有而得名。1855年的頂級酒莊分級中，本酒莊被評定為三級酒莊，可見它有相當不錯的實力。
但是在20世紀本酒莊曾經有過很暗淡的歲月，甚至一度是荒廢的！後來它被干邑白蘭地名廠Remy Martin買下，從來1989年又由保險業AXA集團買下，讓它逐漸回復往日榮光。2006年由現在的莊主英國人Simon Halabi購置了這個酒莊，在他的經營下，將本酒莊又再度推上高峰，從酒評家們的評鑑可以清楚看到近年來品質的顯著提升。
48公頃的葡萄園，土壤是典型的砂礫石土，葡萄品種的種植比例是65% Cabernet Sauvignon、30% Merlot、5% Cabernet Franc，平均樹齡35歲；產量控制在每公頃4500公升以提高品質。現在的Cantenac Brown是嚴謹型的Margaux紅酒，雖然不至於很堅硬強勁，但是確實需要幾年的時間來陳年。
92-94 The 2016 Cantenac Brown comes from a Margaux estate that has upped its game in recent years. It has an intense bouquet with floral aromas filtering through the black cherries, cassis and boysenberry notes, in an odd way almost Saint-Emilion in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. Silky smooth with very well-judged acidity, there is a sorbet-like freshness imbued into this Margaux and it just glides across the palate towards the quite sensual finish. This is certainly equal to the impressive 2015 Cantenac Brown.
